Jane's Addiction anybody?

Not prog at all but knocked me out of my socks like never before!
I was happy to see them strech some songs and improvise a little. Not straight forward at all...

Well it's been six months since the show and i'm still thinking about it sometimes.
I used to like Jane's Addiction in my early days of searching music and when their 2003 album 'STRAYS' came out i was blown away to say the least. What a huge come back!
Since then my interest in prog have grown so much that i forgot all about them. But i was surprised and thrilled when i found out they are coming to israel for the first time to promote their new album 'The Great Escape Artist'. Actually i didn't know what to expect.

All my worries faded like they were never there about the second minute into the first song 'Whores'. I can't remember when was the last time i felt like i was struck by lightning from a band, the sheer power and energy by all members punched me on the nose, sweeped me off my feet and left me dazzeled like a kid at disney world.
In addition to those hard rocking songs, no guy in the audience could have missed the striptease show followed by an erotic dance given by two asian babes, that could easily be qualified as pornstars! It was like the greatest place to be on that evening. In spite of promoting the new album there was only one single track performed, which left more room for old goodies.

Although known for their essential short standard rockers, the band always had what it takes to produce longer and more jammy tracks. Being a prog fan those tracks like 'Ted, just admit it...' and 'Three days' were the high points of the show, featuring Dave Navaro's fiery killer guitar solos and some other amazing hooks. Other songs also enjoyed extended jammy versions which only contributed to the already phenomenal concert. Also to good mention are bassist Chris Chaney and amazing drummer Stephen Perkins, great job indeed.
The low point of the evening was perry farrell vocals that was trying not to strain himself too much, that was very evident in closing track 'Jane Says' that was totally ruined. He was very funny by the way during all the show!

Of all the concerts i attended this was the best! the band seemed like they haven't agaed a bit, except of Farrell's vocals of course. For you who haven't seen them live do your selves a huge favour and go! you will not regret it.
Hope to catch them again sometimes.

I think pornstar is the ultimate compliment for every babe! But i don't want this thread to be about pornstars as interesting topic as it is. Farrell is a great vocalist maybe i caught him on a bad day, i hope to see them again.

Real pitty, i think they have a bass player problem.
