You like Floyd & Eloy, but not Hawkwind? This might change your mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UIYMxZRLf0

I've heard this piece before. Their music lacks the focus and clarity I like in a prog band. Their melodies aren't exactly great either. It just sounds like the whole piece was thrown together without any thought given to it. Sorry, I still dislike Hawkwind and I always will. I've tried for years to get into them. One disappointment after another, I just gave up and decided they're just not for me.

Truth be told, I'm not into Hawkwind at all. But that track in particular is one of my favorite prog tracks of all time. I find it incredible that it was recorded live. To me it sounds like pure Pink Floyd circa 1969-1970, if they had made a follow-up to Ummagumma (live), and added a couple of additional players. That sax, flute, violin, and keys - just amazing. The sound of the guitar (or is that bass?) - I wish Hawkwind sounded like this on all their tracks. Sadly, they don't, not that I've heard... But this for me is just pure magic

Yeah, I just don't like Hawkwind at all and for the afore mentioned reasons.

Floating has always been my fave, although Love Over Six Centuries by far is the best they ever did (perhaps down to the lack of (singing) vocals).
