I looked at the thread title and thought it was about polyphonic music in prog.  Then I saw the OP and thought it was a misspelling of the band "Polyphony" and dedicated to their album "Without Introduction."  Then I clicked on the link.

I will give this a listen sometime today.

Yes they re-issued it a couple of years ago I believe. I had a cdr of it but bought the real thing when they re-issued it. Such a beautiful album cover as well as being an incredible record.

Not the same band. I've never heard Polyphony but these guys are called Poliphony from the UK. They have a definite groovy vibe. All instrumental. Guitar, bass, drums, Fender rhodes and flute. Very  blues-jazz-psych I have the album somewhere and if I remember correctly it was on the Philips label. Not quite sure though.

Yes, there is one John. But not for the Tortilla Flat. Probably the better "Flute album" I've heard for years.

Here is the cover of the album I have called simply Poliphony from 1973. It is on the Zella record label ( not Philips ) and the small writing underneath the letter "P " reads : An album of jazz, blues and rock " Must have been 4 guys who just liked jamming together who said to themselves . " hey man, let's make a record " and then they got stoned and did it.

And Here's the CD Cover

And here's A short review :
"Very nice instrumental jazz psych record. Not too far from some of the Italian film library bands like Fourth Sensation or Psycheground or even the UK group Hungry Wolf. Some nice fuzz leads and flute. Also some jazz-tone guitar and plenty of Rhodes. I think a little more fire in the belly would have lead to a higher rating, but it's still worth tracking down. Not to be confused with the more well known US band Polyphony."-Tom Hayes

You could try this link to purchase a CD copy. But I don't but sh*t over the internet so don't blame me if it's not legit.

A Very good record! I Love the jazz- flute, i really wish that the flute where more incorporated in more music of today.

I've know about some record stores that have it here in Sweden that sell this album. But i can imagine that on ebay you can find it in new/mint-condition for about 10-15 euro? I think some time back there was a Prog-Rock record store based only on Ebay, i bought some stuff from them. But i'm not sure!

Hello, just wondering if Poliphony is still under review for being added to Progarchives. A great jazz/fusion band that more people need to know about!

Yeah, it's still being evaluated in Psych/Space: http://progfreak.com/Poliphony-159352.html?path=pa/recent. One member of the team has voted 'move' (to another sub genre - and that would almost certainly have to be JR/F), and there are currently only two members in the Psych/Space team, so at the moment the next course of action is being discussed by them. Maybe one of them will post some more information here regarding this?...Let's wait and see!  Embarrassed

Edit: Video link in the original post is now dead (uploader's account terminated), so here's another one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5InxyvFb3ZcThumbs Up
