1. A band like early Agalloch. A band that combines black metal with folk and neo classical. I particularly like the Shane Breyer pieces (Misshapen Steed, Foliorum Viridium, A Poem by Yeats). The juxtaposition of the classical with the atmospheric, folky black metal is simply fantastic. I want more!

2. A band like Ulver's "Perdition City" or Massive Attack's "Mezzanine." Kind of creepy electronic music, with some incredibly badass percussion, and a slow layering of the tracks.

For number 2, maybe Jojo Mayer & Nerve? Kind of more on the dubstepy feel but because it's played by the 3 musicians, has great layering and Jojo on the kit is an obvious hint to the percussion on the tracks.

In general though i think a lot of trip hop will appeal to you.
