An initial vote goes to Journey's debut.

Journey, though both are kind of "meh".
Welcome to the middle of the film.

Both are not my cup of tea---but 10CC has one or two songs---can't believe Journey is even on this site but whatever.

10cc The Original Soundtrack.

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

Now here's an interesting comparison! Journey's first is very good-find it, give it an ample listen, and concur. The Original Soundtrack, however, pulled out all the stops. For a bunch of former art students, the guys from 10cc were wonderfully deft, economic musicians (and composers, as seen with Mr. Gouldman even before the band formed). And I read somewhere that One Night in Paris [this title's English translation] was the inspiration for Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. 'Soundtrack falls easily somewhere within my top 50 albums. I've yet to purchase the remastered CD of the album, being a holy grail to attain in the future.

Hi,

10CC is far and away a lot more creative of a group of people, that have had a massive run on their success with various hits and such, going as far back as Neil Sedaka, all the way to their experimental days for two of them and later one of them being well known director for a great number of videos for the band "The Police".

There was a lot more to those 4 guys than just a band. You could just about say they were "artists" when compared to rock musicians that Journey is all about, and nothing more.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

I can't stand either band.

I have both since their release and while 10cc is a very clever disc of intelligent pop, the Journey debut had so much heavy prog potential, sadly ruined when Steve Perry showed up to end any hope of 'progress'. Schon, Rollie and Dunbar just smoked nicely , the second 'Look into the Future' was so-so and 'Next' even weaker but nothing compared to wheels in the sky keep on burning (yuck!)
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.
