Interesting how Gentle Giant are absent as well as any post seventies band. No non English bands either except for Focus.

The top six is correct although Tull and Genesis should be switched round imo. VDGG is a good choice lower down. Its a decent list but there will never be agreement over this anyway

I don't think it was a bad list either.....the order is a bit skewed depending on one's preferences.
It reminds me of a list that was in Prog Rock or Mojo some years back. I need to find that one and post it here.

Nice to see Procol Harum and Van Der Graaf Generator in there.
No Rush is also a good thing in my book!

This isn't surprising from a Glasgow columnist to put Jethro Tull near the top IMO.

Mojo's choices are a bit questionable, and the placing of DSOTM in
number 1 is utterly predictable (to be honest, I never understood why so
many consider it the best prog album of all time). On the other hand,
Prog Mag's list is a pretty great one, despite completely ignoring the
post-rock genre.

Wait, number 3 again? Well, not really prog metal, but they are metal and a little prog so the hell with it \m/

Alriiight, now we jump to number 7. This is getting interesting.
Sadly I'm not familiar with Abacap, but if you really do enjoy prog rock
I reccomend you listen to the band's real prog rock albums (i.e. their 70's output).

I believe you mean "Close to the Edge"? Anyway, it is pretty good, but I suggest you listen to it more than just once in order to fully grasp its greatness.

NO NO NO NO, you got it all wrong!!! Pink Floyd never did punk my friend. Never! They are a progressive rock band. Let me illustrate what I mean: This
guy is the lead singer of Sex Pistols, a punk band. Notice his t-shirt? Yes, his band
sucked. Yes, they were jealous because Pink Floyd were better than them. PS: Was I trolled guys? Oh, and welcome to PA!!!

Archeus, you were so, most definitely trolled, unless you are trolling me by pretending to be trolled.

^ Um this guy is the lead singer of the Sex Pistols who had no reason to be jealous of PF ^^ that guy is the drummer Paul Cook . John is a big fan of VDGG and Hawkwind Kate Bush and Krautrock etc ... as you know.

I wasn't really going for a "troll", since I really hate that concept... I just kind of expected everyone to pick up on my sarcasm... OH WELL
