I'm thinking of stuff like Renaissance, ELP, and um... well, lets put it this way. Somebody said Renaissance was more like Classical with some rock, rather than regular Symphonic prog which is Rock with some classical. That's the sort of thing I'm looking for.

You should definitely check out The Enid.

and Celeste - Principe di un Giorno
+ Il Paese dei Balocchi - s/t

I'll come back with some more, when my brain is cooperating.

I listened to In The Region of the Summer Stars earlier. Excellent first impression. I have the 1984 version, could not find the original ANYWHERE online.

I recommend Banco's "...di terra" album and the Moody Blues "days of future passed." Also, Camel. Good call on the Enid also.

I love pieces like The Three Fates, the intro to Trip to the Fair, or the intro to Running Hard. Really great piano pieces! What are some of the best this genre has to offer?

The intro to Triumvirat's "Broken Mirror" is truly sublime.

Firth of Fifth by Genesis has an amazing piano intro. Almost as good as Trip to the Fair.

OK, so Univers Zero needs to go on my priority list. Lately been spinning my usual favorites, along with a lot of Illusion. Another one I forgot to mention I really love, Voyage of the Acolyte. A masterpiece of pastoral prog, such a beautiful album.

Okay, I don't really think this fits with what you are asking for, but William Sheller's Lux Aeterna is amazing to me.

This might be a stretch if you are looking for "orchestral" prog but for classical I would suggest either of the live Strawbs albums that feature Rick Wakeman on just piano. Antiques and Curios is one the other is called Recollection. Wakeman simply is amazing.
