Mine wouldn't change much as usual I have SUSAR in the wrong year, should be 2004. So Porcupine Tree's Deadwing at 2005. In 2004 I would have Guapo Five Suns. Tool's Lateralus for 2001.

Oooh. This is a great question. Okay, I will not limit my list to prog (meaning on the PA), but I will list my favorite album of every year for the 2000s, one album per artist (no repeats):
0.) Symphony X: V - The New Mythology Suite (duh) 1.) Fintroll: Jatkens tid (Opeth: Blackwater Park for prog, I guess) 2.) ISIS: Oceanic 3.) Boris: Feedbacker (Neurosis and Jarboe for prog) 4.) Orphaned Land: Mabool 5.) Nile: Annihilation of the Wicked (Gojira: From Mars to Sirius for prog, I guess) 6.) Unexpect: In a Flesh Aquarium 7.) Ensiferum: Victory Songs (Pelican: City of Echoes/Epica: The Divine Conspiracy for prog; tough decision... the former) 8.) Amaseffer: Slaves for Life (2008 was a phenomenal year for prog, metal, really everything) 9.) Doing two lists in descending year order. While this topic is in a Prog forum, I really like so much music not considered Prog in terms of not being included at PA it would be sad for me not mention those others, especially as it includes some of my very favourite bands. I rather lazily copied these lists off a topic I did covering music in and out of PA where I did a pair per year from 2023 to 1965. Were I to make a fresh list today, I have no doubt that they would not be identical... and also if I made one tomorrow that would not be the same as today's list.
