Comus, First Utterance.
|
When he rides, my fears subside. For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night.

First Utterance is a highly original album; there is nothing like it. Yet I find about half of the album rather disgusting, so my vote goes to St. Radigunds.

I've not been able to acquire First Utterence yet (as a vinyl.......I am a snob of sorts.........) - anyway, a frad off-topic, but how does this Comus album measure up to Jan Dukes' 'Mice And Rats In The Loft' - an album I dearly enjoy.......???

Have you tried looking on Discogs? Mice And Rats is one of the best progressive folk albums! I've also been lucky to find a high quality reprint :). I do think Comus and Spyrogira are more songbased acts, whilst Jan Dukes has longer compositions and multi-instrumental musicanship as a main feature.

Yep...I have always felt the same way....unique and original but annoying at times.

I actually found my First Utterance reprint at my local record store for $20 in the unsorted bin. That is certainly an unexpected thing to see while flipping through random records! But yeah, discogs is probably your best bet
