I actually enjoy Whodunnit, it is in my opinion a much better song.  ------------- Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

`Misunderstanding' is a nice little poppy number with a decent vocal from Phil, really rather lovely! It gets my vote. I thought Phil was at his most genuinely emotional on the `Duke' album. I used to think `Whodunnit' was bloody awful, but now I find it kind of bent and hypnotic, like some sort of psychedelic/new wave piece! That `Abacab' album is full of lots of differents styles and sounds, `Whodunnit' fits on that one well.

I wonder if this thread should be moved to the Just for Fun-section. On returning to topic: I have always considered Who Dunnit? the worst thing Genesis ever did, so I have to vote for that piece of filler called Misunderstanding. -------------

Whodunnit was at least an experimental groove. (Missed)understanding (hah, hah), although melodic, was an ominous vision of things to come in Collins' burgeoning solo career which would send past fans screaming off high places. |
