I actually enjoy Whodunnit, it is in my opinion a much better song. Tongue

you chose my favorite Genesis song as an option so I have to vote for it!

`Misunderstanding' is a nice little poppy number with a decent vocal from Phil, really rather lovely! It gets my vote. I thought Phil was at his most genuinely emotional on the `Duke' album.

I used to think `Whodunnit' was bloody awful, but now I find it kind of bent and hypnotic, like some sort of psychedelic/new wave piece! That `Abacab' album is full of lots of differents styles and sounds, `Whodunnit' fits on that one well.

Hate?!  ... Far from that. I don't hate either of them. In fact, I like them both, so no vote.

Aw crap, talk about not reading the fine print, I voted for the one I like more!

Geez, don't get me to sign any life changing contracts any time soon!

^ I knew that three people here couldn't hate "Misunderstanding" more than "Whodunnit".

I wonder if this thread should be moved to the Just for Fun-section.

On returning to topic: I have always considered Who Dunnit? the worst thing Genesis ever did, so I have to vote for that piece of filler called Misunderstanding.

Misunderstanding for sure. I never skip any track on an album I listen to, although I can leave the room and do something else whilst a 'lesser' track is playing...........Whodunnit is one such track......

None of them, really. There are better Genesis songs from that  period.

I read the fine print and will therefore abstain until my lawyer takes a look at it.

Whodunnit? Who commited the crime of recording Misunderstanding? I demand a coroner's inquest! LOL

They're both pretty dire, but I'll vote Whodunnit. At least it catches your attention. Misunderstanding makes me yawn so hard I could dislocate my jaw.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Whodunnit was at least an experimental groove. (Missed)understanding (hah, hah), although melodic, was an ominous vision of things to come in Collins' burgeoning solo career which would send past fans screaming off high places.

Now, I'm not voting, since the results on this poll seem to have been totally invalidated because of a lot of wrong votings. However, even though I don't really like Misunderstanding... there's just about no song from Genesis (at least from the ones I know) worse than Whodunnit.

My apologies, friend. I did think of this shortly after I posted said rubbish. Don't mean any harm.

Thanks, pard'. And I thought my ramblings about the two songs did answer the poll question: Misunderstanding I hate more because it came out around the time that Collins was finding his unfortunate true muse - sugar-coated pop.

Me too. I didn't really even read the question, just saw the choices and voted for what I preferred!

For what it's worth I dislike Misunderstanding more. It's sh*t.

I love the question! Causing a misunderstanding about who done it.

Genesis are such a versatile band of writers.

No hate, no vote.
