I am very interested in Miriodor. Everything I hear from them sounds kind of awesome but I know all of their albums sound extremely different. Is there one where their music is particularly complex or overthought? I don't know where to start with their music. It's one of those bands where their discography feels almost daunting to me because I don't know where to go. I love 5uus, Present, Ahvak, and the other types of modern strange Rock in Opposition bands. So the weirder the better. Hmm...tough call. I'd say Avanti probably fits your first query best. I second Avanti!'s suggestion. In my humble opinion, it is one of the masterpieces of the past 10 years or so, and they are pure perfection on stage. By all means check them out, and also the other bands suggested by the previous posters. Cuneiform Records and AltrOck (as well as Soleil Zeuhl) are currently the best labels for anything RIO/Avant, but there is also a lot of stuff that's independently released. |
