So, hello there forums. I've been trying to get into prog now for a little while. And I thought this would be one of the best places to discover new bands.

The first prog band I was introduced to is Rush. My mom's boyfriend showed me 2112, and my jaw was on the floor in amazement. Along soon came Pink Floyd, Tool and my favorite band now since 2010. Dream Theater. First album I fell in love with was A Dramatic Turn of Events, I further went deeper into their catalog and found my favorite album of all-time. Metropolis Pt. 2. Then dove even further into prog and found Porcupine Tree, Opeth and one of my new favorite bands...Haken. Any recommendations based off these bands.

Welcome to the forum and greetings from Scotland Beer

I would recommend you listen to King Crimson who can be as heavy as DT, as mellow as PF and as complex as Rush. Start with In The Court of The Crimson King from 1969 and watch for your jaw dropping to the floor in amazement once again.
