Vegas has installed Zappa as a slight 10 vote favorite. Can Riverside pull the upset. Most certainly. We shall see!

Zappa easily, would have been a much harder call against Samla

Riverside, just to spice things up. Love Hot Rats and Make A Jazz Noise Here, but, we got to have some fun somehow.

Loads of respect for Zappa and all he accomplished but I am going for Riverside on this one. Given the staggering amount of output from Frank I really only enjoy a very small percentage of it. The percentage is much higher with Riverside.

Zappa all the way. Riverside, like Opeth, have been going downhill for a while.

Ok, no offense intended, but one of the most original acts ever against a yawn-inducing modern prog act? Really? Easily, Zappa...

Zappa for historical reasons.
I don't like any of both, but Zappa means something.

Zappa may be a genius but I don't like his music.
Riverside made prog metal respectable, so they easily get my vote.

That Riverside song is still cringe-worthy. Though they're better than Zappa, for me.
I prefer Lunatic Soul to Riverside actually. While Riverside is a very accessible progressive metal band, they still lack something special for me to listen to constantly. Don't get me wrong, ADHD is fantastic along with their other albums, but they can sound stale on certain days.

Voted Zappa but really not fair this post tho' both bands are so different plus Zappa is Zappa "paid his dues if you will" I feel bad for Riverside because they are really good but different and are competing against an icon

Voted against both of these in the first round. And I'll vote against Riverside again. Easy one for Zappa.

I'm not into comedy albums.....Zappa had some great musicians helping him and I would vote for them.
Riverside for me is simply great music, the last album really takes time and attention and does hit a homerun in a lot of areas. How they toned the music down is really nice, but yea ADHD is pretty amazing too.
They will lose sadly , to a 70's guy.

This pretty much sums it up for me. I love some of Zappa's stuff but love just about all of Riverside's music.

Zappa's output is very uneven for me, but such brilliance as he had definitely deserves my support. Never been big on Riverside.

Again I vote Zappa but it's not fair to compare Riverside against Zappa (he has become an icon, you cannot compete with this), they would win lots of polls too. I like them a lot too.
