This Heat vs. Chrome

The connection between post-punk and prog is to be found in This Heat. Their performances dissonant and hypnotic, they later inspired bands of the industrial and post-rock varieties.

Precursors to the industrial scene, Chrome sported feedback-, electronics-, and noise-drenched psychedelic post-punk. A Warner Rep once said of them that they sounded like "a messed up Doors album."

I really love that early Chrome stuff, so I'm going with that.  I've been trying to get into This Heat, but for some reason it's just not clicking.  Which annoys me, because on paper they should be like my favorite band.  Avant prog with punky energy? Tailor made for me it would seem, but no.

This Heat. Even as an industrial person, never really dug Chrome beyond Half Machine Lip Moves.

I like both, but This Heat are leagues ahead of Chrome imo. They just hit a sweet spot for me.
