This Heat vs. Chrome The connection between post-punk and prog is to be found in This Heat. Their performances dissonant and hypnotic, they later inspired bands of the industrial and post-rock varieties. Precursors to the industrial scene, Chrome sported feedback-, electronics-, and noise-drenched psychedelic post-punk. I really love that early Chrome stuff, so I'm going with that. I've been trying to get into This Heat, but for some reason it's just not clicking. Which annoys me, because on paper they should be like my favorite band. Avant prog with punky energy?
