Love them both, but Talk Talk has had a much greater impact on my life. They were one of my favorite New Romantic type bands even before they blew me away with Spirit of Eden. I think It's my Life was one of the first 20 CDs I ever bought. Slint are quite amazing too but I always wished they had a stronger vocal presence, especially since their lyrics can be shockingly good ("Good Morning Captain" is devastating).
