So Mr. Bungle went goodbye, and so Trey Spruance finally found it in him to pull his once side band together into a killer force. The result is one of the all time greatest, and one of the all time most eclectic, avant-prog releases.

But what do you think?

I recently bought this album - my very first SC3 album - and loved every minute of it, right from the first listen. It is a masterpiece, and much more accessible (in relative terms, of course) than I thought the band would be.

I think it's the first really good SC3 album, and I even prefer it a bit over the much-loved Book of Horizons which is a little less accessible and kind of turns me off whenever a Holy Vehms song comes on.

SC3 in my humble opinion, is probably the greatest project of the last 15 years or so. Book M changed my perspective on a lot of things- it changed my perception about oriental music, electronic music, metal. In general it broadened my horizons more than most albums.

Wonderful band, & great live, I'd love to see them at RIO, they'd go down a storm. I slightly prefer Book Of Horizons but both are excellent.

One of many greats by them, saw them live last year and Trey is a true showman, even though he could not walk normally and even though we were a tiny audience, they came out and did a double encore. Book M is definitely one of their greatest works.

I bought their debut and hated it.  But I listened to Book M a few weeks ago on Spotify and rather liked it.  Don't know if I'll pursue them further.

I would. Definitely give Book Of Horizons a listen. Aside from the two death metal tracks, it is truly top notch modern progressive rock.
