haven't listened to The Mars Volta in years
What's "Choirs"?Confused

5 out of 20 is neo-prog only.

I do listen to progressive metal, let's see who else is. Fates Warning got their first vote in my polls. I applaud who did that. Clap

IQ- Dark Matter is a great album!

First vote for Happy the Man.  A unique, largely overlooked, and mostly instrumental album with very tight musicianship and performances.  Runners Up include Peter Gabriel, Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, and IQ.

This was tough, In Absentia or Train of Thought. I picked Train of Thought, probably my favorite DT album and doesn't get the love it deserves. Tongue

Choirs of the Eye.

The highest rated album of 2003.

None of the above. Radiohead's Kid A tops my list, but Kayo Dot's Choirs of the Eye second.

Magenta - Seven

I could easily have gone with IQ, Riverside, Pendragon, Marillion, Spock's Beard, Magenta or Transatlantic.

But Camel's last album of new material simply blows me away. If the last new thing they ever recorded had been For Today, it would have been the perfect end to their career. Here's hoping it won't be!

Other. Motorpsycho's Phanerothyme.

Could've gone with Jaga's A Livingroom Hush, Sigur Rós' ( ), TMV's De-Loused and KC's The Power to Believe as well.

Of the ones mentioned, V is probably my favourite, but I'm not crazy about it.

I'd normally vote for In Absentia but as its romping away with the poll I went for Magenta's Seven. That is a beauty of an album. Christina's vocal is the highpoint , emotional and expressive. Keyboard player and writer Rob Reed knows how to do prog with 'hooks'. Should also mention Chris Fry who is one of my favourite guitarists and can handle acoustic and lead with equal aplomb.

I listened to jaga Jazzist, a friend of mine likes them.
But I agree on Sigur Ros and KC's album, and i did think of them, but got all excited "hey, there's some good neo-prog early 2000s" and that's why they are not there. But they will certainly be in my next one. Big smile

Easy choice with The Perfect Element.

Kind of glad that Choirs of the Eye isn't listed, I'm not sure I'd be able to choose between them.
