While I usually go for the Zappa choice, of these I prefer Hillage.

Elohim's Voyage... Zarathustra... Salisbury... The Funeral Plain... Musique pour L'Odyssee... will have to think this over for awhile.

Jan Dukes de Grey all the way :)

Not often you see any mention of Jan Dukes de Grey let alone temporarily topping a poll. I used to stick a speaker out of the window of my Standard Eight in the Earls Court Road blaring this song out. Sirens caused immediate consternation and then relaxation when the music cut in.

Magma, Hatfield, UZ, and FZ.

Toughie.

I'll go Magma this time.

The Uriah Heep tune is the best here. And I can't believe I'm saying that.

Wanted to vote Pulsar, they're one of my favorite bands ever, but Les Porches by Maneige is truly one of the greatest songs of all time!

Valentyne Suite - Either version would get my vote but the original version on the US edition of Those About to Die is a seriously great track.

It includes Beware the Ides of March as the third movement rather than The Grass is Greener.

Ides of March was released on the UK version of the Those About to Die album which is why it wasn't included in the UK version of the Valentyne Suite.  When the UK album - called the Valentyne Suite - was released, the equivalent US album release couldn't include the title track as it had already been included on Those About To Die, so the album was called "The Grass is Greener" including the title track that had been inserted as the 3rd movement of the UK version of the Valentyne Suite.  Confused??

4 really great ones here:

Focus, Gryphon, Heep and Colosseum.

I'll just give it to Heep. Salisbury is an amazing album, even down to the cover artwork.

Valentyne Suite jumps out at me ( apparently inspired by the 1969 Moon landing for those that don't know)

1) Nektar - A Tab in the ocean (great track from a great album)
2) Hammill - Flight (love it but actually prefer the shorter songs from A Black Box - another great album)
3) Tie between Hillage and Caravan

it's Song of the Marching Children for sure. Mostly because it's the only one I'm familiar with

sorry.

The Pedro and Micky Experience - When one no longer requires psychotropics to trip

Yet being rather a newby here (only know Hillage and Osanna), apart from the poll options my fave is the more frenzy Oro Caldo over Animale Senza Respiro, I don't know for sure yet why, honestly I have to admit Palepoli deserves a bit more spins, it's a heluva a capolavoro.

I could've gone for a number of different choices here, but seeing SBBs Odejscie without any votes made it easy...........then I remembered that you, most likely, are referring to the cut off Slovenian Girls, which isn't the one I was voting forLOL
The one, and only, Odejscie for me, is the original 30 minute version included as a bonus track on the cd release of Ze Slowem Biegne Do Ciebie. I sadly can't find it anywhere on ze net for streaming purposes.

I've thrown a vote in for Hillage's Solar Musick Suite, lurking at the bottom there.  I actually prefer the Lunar Musick Suite though.

I'm glad you felt that way SagiBig smile - I was thinking the exact same thing when I, yesterday on a break from an outdoor trek with my study mates, stumbled over this thread.
That way I was free to vote for the SBB tune, which I kinda fecked up anyway seeing as I almost certainly voted for the wrong versionLOL

The version for Odejscie that I have is from Wolanie o brzek szkla (damn this polish) 20 minutes long. I like it of course but it's not my favourite from this great band.

I really love Lunar Musick Suite as well, and I think it's every bit as wonderful as the Solar suite, yet the one thing that lets it down (at least for my tastes) is it's production. Too cold for my tastes. Completely opposite to the one found on Fish Rising, where you get the feel of an album cut live in the studio without too much "processing" going down.
In any case you gotta love Steve's playing on that thingBig smile

Thanks Dave I wouldn't mind another SBB album, I'll see if it's available.
