Next up.  Poll #21.  One vote, top 2 vote getters move on to 2nd round to face each other. Vote for the album people.. not the group. If you don't know the album, ask, google, youtube it. Lots of great music here man...

First up in the contest of a damn interesting scene that sprouted up in Spain in the mid to late 70's. From Spain Clap we have

Los Canarios!!!!

first of many up (very bottom loaded) from Italy today.. simply one of the most beautiful and famed progressive mellotron driven classics. From the lighter end (the heavy end comes later in the polls)

Celeste!!! Clap

next up.. oh my..  one of absolute favorites..  From England

Stevie Winwood and Traffic Heart

Next up..  a Zeuhl CLASSIC!! (like the Spanish, RPI.. very heavy bottom loaded Zeuhl in these polls) Clap From France!!

Eskaton!! Clap

I love the opening track to Celeste's "Principe Di Un Giorno", but the rest is not on the same level IMHO as it comes to composition.
I support Traffic here. Low Spark is not their best (the eponymous second and John Barleycorn are better) but the magic is still there. Some great songs with a great flow.

Celeste - probably in my top 10 Italian albums, love it but the few times I've seen it in a record shop, it's been way too expensive

I only knew the Traffic album but the other three are really great too. I voted for Ciclos (even if it will not help them), very nice album... Vivaldi would be proud Tongue

I always meant to write one myself .. glad I didn't now.  It probably would have sucked just as bad as my other reviews did. LOL

yeah it probably would... I remember they were awful to say the least!!!Big smileClownHugParty

Seriously, when and why did the writer's block occur?

(I've got an idea about that...)

...

I remember a passionate review of yours on Palepoli.

When I listen to Osanna (rarely nowadays, to be honest) and even when I watch Battiato on TV or read something about him on magazines and newspapers (actually this happens very oftenLOL) I really can't help but thinking about you... eheheh

Embarrassed oh christ Andrea.. that is kind of you to say.

As far as my writers' block..  pretty simple.  I have been staring into the sun for so long that I got blind.

Raff is so much better.. sh*t.. lightyears better than I am that in comparision my reviews felt like the raving of a 3rd grader.  She has a talent for writing.. my only talent was  pissing people off LOL

Went and tore a muscle in my back last evening .... no no no .... but thanks for thinking it might have been a possibility. Anywho, I am somewhat blissed out on you beaut pain killers. Ergo Celeste is working quite nicely for me this morning. Eskaton is probably number two, Low Spark one of my favourite Traffic albums but I was a never a huge fan so we'll slot Los Canarios at three.
