Hi PA - Apologies in advance if Jeff Loomis has already been suggested for inclusion in the archive (and maybe even rejected).  Personally I feel he has just about enough progressive elements in his solo work to be at least considered for inclusion, though he really is in that camp between metal, guitar hero and progressive!  Anyway, here is my submission!

Title;

JEFF LOOMIS - TECH/EXTREME PROG METAL

Biography (written by myself);

-----------------------------------------------

Jeff LOOMIS is an American guitarist born September 14 1971 in Menasha, Wisconsin.  He is a prolific heavy metal guitarist most widely known for his work with NEVERMORE, a thrash / progressive metal band who's origins were from Seattle, Washington.  Since NEVERMORE disbanded in 2011 Jeff LOOMIS focused on his solo career for several years, before becoming the lead guitarist for ARCH ENEMY, a well known European melodic death metal band.  Jeff LOOMIS has been a guitar player since a young age, and even tried out for thrash metal veterans MEGADETH when he was just 15 years of age.

To date Jeff LOOMIS has released two solo albums, 2008's "Zero Order Phase" and 2012's "Plains of Oblivion".  Both albums are highly progressive solo works from Jeff LOOMIS and feature a great deal of musical experimentation combined with some phenomenal guitar playing, replete with sweeping arpeggios, complex tapping arrangements and mind-bending rhythmic arrangements.  The styles of music covered on both albums range from extreme technical progressive metal through to softer progressive rock music.

Jeff LOOMIS has a huge following in the guitar community, and is regarded as one of the finest heavy guitarists of his generation.  His solo work shows significant amounts of progressive experimentation and complex musical arrangements.  As of 2015 Jeff LOOMIS is playing full time with ARCH ENEMY and has no plans for a third solo album at this time.

Some of Jeff Loomis work from those two solo albums, I feel these are a pretty decent indication of his solo work

Thanks for reading - I can have reviews of both of his solo albums ready to go if you do decide to include him on the archives!  Cheers - AndyJ

Thanks Andy, a very skilled player and great musician. I would place him more in technical rather than progressive metal, but since I see he has not been properly evaluated, I will put him on our charts for checking.

If he is accepted, I will use your bio, if not, it is unlikely that you will see a reply in this thread but you can always follow progfreak
