Subject: Imagine Dragons has sold Diamond. How?

The (indie style) American rock group Imagine Dragons has sold Diamond (10, 000,000 copies or 5x Platinum) on their last album titled Radioactive, as certified by the  Recording Industry Association Of America (RRIA). If the recording industry is dead due to pirating, then how was this possible?

Because based on the pop-rock scene on FM, they must be the only thing going that is good. I assume vinyl sales also might be helping....

RIAA awards diamond plaques to singles and albums that reach 10x platinum status. That once was the equivalent of selling 10 million songs or albums, but has changed since RIAA began incorporating streaming from YouTube, Spotify and others. "Radioactive" has sold 7.7 million tracks, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and the band's record label, Interscope Records, said the song has been streamed more than 366 million times.

Any group of guys that have sold that many albums and songs after the 1990's is basically boy bands. Even if they write their own songs, producers make sure their songs are radio ready. Even if they play their own instruments, they aren't in the group because they are good at their instruments. They are in the group because they can sell. Hell, even metal does it. A kind gentleman I know in Tennessee played bass on several albums down there but they wouldn't let him even become the touring bassist because he refused to grow out a beard or get tattoos. Yeap. Everything that makes money is a calculated conspiracy to manipulate young minds into demanding money from their parents for it.

All groups that I dislike the most sell the most records. That's pretty much been the case since I started caring about music more than anything.

Hey man, they just don't impress me that's all. Just a joke.

An honest guess is that they must've brought something new to the table. However looking at today's industry that may not be the case.
