Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends! But seriously it is that time again so get your sh*t talking hats back on and get ready for what should be an exciting NFL fantasy season. As always all newcomers are welcome, and I hope to see last years people as returnees. Before we get into it further I want to put in a side note about the plaque. It still exists I assure you, and am very sorry to last years winner for not getting it to them. However, it has become somewhat of a hot issue between my wife and I. It is kind of a long story but in short she never wanted me to get it, and shipping it to the first years winner did not go over so well. So when I brought it up this year it blew up in my face. It also coincided with out child being born so it was the last in the list of things to do. Anyhow, things have cooled down and I am going to put forth an effort to get it out before the beginning of the season. With that aside, I'd like to readdress last years draft debacle. I assure you all this will not happen again, right now it is set to Sep 9th, 7:30PM. This is a day before the season starts. We can change it according to peoples schedules, but to play it safe, that is where it stands now. Now onto the league part of things. This year, do we want to make it the beginning of a keeper league? If so let's start talking about how many keepers and what type of draft we want to do. Either way we go we also need to address point system and rules. I think there was an issue with the waiver last year, so let's come to a consensus on that. I tend to over think the point system so this year I'm down to go straight Yahoo defaults, but I'll go with whatever the majority decides. Can't think of anything else at the moment, except the obvious reminder that this is for fun, a complete fantasy, where randomness can sometimes play as much a role as intelligent choices. Some good old fashioned ribbing are in order. Crewed intended insults or bad attitudes are not welcome. Also, you can help to remind your fellow members about the league and direct them to this thread, we always seem to have some late stragglers and or an odd amount of people so the earlier we get a feel for how many people we have the better. I, for one, do not need a plaque. I hate to think that it might be a sore spot between you and your wife. We are here for the fun of it, it's free, and the right to brag is good enough for me. Hopefully, I'll see everyone there on draft day this year. Take care. |

I have confirmed my spot in the league, if you'll still have me. Thank you, Mr. Commissioner, for setting this up for us to have a good time in and pull our hair out screaming over the wrong guy getting the TD. My kids enjoy the shows. Both the ball game and their father's reactions.  I am mildly opposed to the keeper league idea, but my opinion is just that: Mild. I liked the points settings we had last season. With the first week of pre season underway I thought to check some setting for our league, and was informed of the keeper settings. We do not have to do this, but if everyone who is playing this year are roll overs from last season we may want to discuss our options. Also this is a reminder to those who have yet join, emails have been sent out and the above links work as well. Also please help remind your fellow members if you know someone who has yet to confirm their spot. |

Yes, please I do not need the Plaque sent to me or engraved if it is an issue, that's fine, much prefer peace in the household... I'd suggest keeping it a redraft league or go full blown Dynasty .. keeper leagues are so in between and meh.

'There is not room in this league if all teams from last year return. If you were invited to take over an existing team, please click the link in the email you received to join the league. To create a brand new team, get the commissioner to increase the maximum number of teams, or remove teams that will not be returning." So I guess I need to wait to see if you have anyone who is not returning for sure, and then remove them before I can join. -------------

To make it even we need just one more team. We currently have 6 people from last year who have not rejoined. Anyone know where the people behind the team(s); The Fighting Clems, Mole in the Machine, NYG#1, or Vinny Currying? They were a heavy presence last year, and I would hate for any of them to miss out on this year especially if they are still interested. Also the we should start discussing draft day/times. I am hoping for Sunday or Monday in the evening (pacific time). That leaves the 30th(sun),31st(mon), 6th(sun), and 7th(mon) as options. I can do other days as well, but the time draws nearer so we should commit soon. I am also fine with drafting with the current time set albeit that may be a bit late for anyone on the east coast or in the midwest. |

Invite sent out to Clem, that means we may need Bobby Brown's wife to play again to make it an even 10. As for the draft time/day, I now set it to TUESDAY at 8:45pm Pacific Time. This can change, so speak up if this is an issue. |

Unfortunately, I work 2-11 EST on Tuesday. So it doesn't really work if it gets pushed earlier because then I'll miss it. Any way we could look at a list of several possible dates/times and try to figure one out that works for as many people as possible? -------------

Alright, how about for draft we do it Tuesday September 8 at 5:30pm PST/8:30pm EST. I have changed it in Yahoo to reflect that but it can still change. And now we have a nice 10 person league. Tues the 8th at 9PM is perfect for me. This is a totally minor issue but something I was just wondering about: Seems rough to have a -1 for missed kicks over 50 yards. Just for over 50, seems you cant really fault for someone for missing from that distance to me, but also I see that could be unfair and we don't wanna be softies

ALison I will make sure she doesn't know about that ; ) I see the change has already been made, I sincerely wasn't like omg gung ho about it, I just was thinking 50 yards is imho "acceptable" to miss, like you can't really fault em for that. Yeah, this was WAY better than being last in that 20 person league  I have never taken a RB first pick, but I couldn't pass up the #2 spot. I am happy with my team. Peyton, Sanders, Tate, AJ Green and Greg Olsen is still a pretty darn good pass attack but I got a good back for once. We shall see. Good luck all!

Certainly was a flop but what can ya expect when Cam is the QB? Speaking of flops, first half of this game I was drinking to drown the sorrows of how bad Peyton and Sanders are doing. By the end I was drinking in celebration. 3 TDs and 2 to Sanders, this is what I was expecting  I believe, for the time being, I'm up 47.5 points on you Rob

Wow...what can I say Rob? I had a great game, 2nd most points in the league this week by a good amount, you just had even more! Can't even really be bummed. Fitz is such a beast, shame he had to wade through some awful Arizona QBs, injuries and a crap o line that held him back, imagine how greater his numbers would be. |

I am spanking HWT massively and still have 4 players left to go My other league I also winning and have 5 left to go, so this has been a sick ass week for me. Finally my pass heavy strategy has paid off! Especially Greg Olsen who finally has stepped up for me.

Three first half TDs, Rodgers is such a beast. I already have my other league matchup won easily, and clearly he's not even done. Edit: 5 TDs no picks. Sweet crispy Jesus, I think he may be an actual machine. As for this one, sorry BWT but I dont think you're making up 72 points. Woo 1-2! Just like the Giants my epic comeback for the season begins

My team was underperforming tremendously today, and then I had both Philip Rivers and Keenan Allen in the afternoon. I have to admit, I have neglected and even forgotten about this league (not sure if I ever had any games where I left players on bye) so sorry about that. Same happened in my other league but I decided to try and save some dignity. Won my last in the other league and here I made sure to start Buffalo's defense, turned on the game to see them get a sack, pick then fumble recovery for TD in the span of like a minute. OH YEAH!

He replaced Brandon Cooks, can't say any real loss to picking him up. Realistically shouldn't ever have to play him, least nothing more than a #4/flex 23.2 points on defense. Oh yeah!

And nice job Fighting Clems on risking it with John Brown, but it would've payed off even bigger had you stacked all your AZ players in... but that would've be crazy. Excellent game, Plank. I hate that Calvin Johnson decided to actually do something when I decided to bench him in favor of what I thought would be a shootout (Steelers vs. Ravens).
