Described by its maker Dennis Montgomery as "doom metal mixed with mellotron", one-man (very effectively played and mixed !) band WytchCrypt has in it, among other possible ways of describing it, the powerful allegory of Tyranny of the (so called) Weak on the (so called) Stronger: the gently weeping & childlike Monster With A Sweet Voice. It's very rare to find music built that way but its power can be compared to the one from bands who use a fierce voice on cheesy music (Aragon doing it greatly on some tracks). 110% the WYTCHCRYPT machine lead by none other than my good friend, Dennis Montegomery should very much be included into PA's database. Dennis, not only is a fantastic guy but also a quality and accomplished musician. I mean when you combine the heaviness of Black Sabbath and the eclectic nature of King Crimson your sure to have a winner. WytchCrypt is one awesome one man army. Sounds like progressive doom metal to my ears but is there a release? Can the album be downloaded, purchased? Physical or digital format? |

Aapastos, You guys blew it with "While Heaven Wept'' not being rightly placed in PA's Prog metal category, so I'm hoping you won't make the same mistake with Dennis's WytchCrypt project. IMO WC is much more prog-crimsonesque than WHW, esp regarding harmonies. Structures are far from typical metal pieces'... I cross fingers, but thanks anyway for taking time to listen to all those bands regardless of the tastes there, and the more thanks to those whose heavy (metal) burden is to announce bad news !!

I just don't get it. I guess the majority hear this band in a different light than I do?  I am always happy to admit when I'm wrong, but for what Prog metal stands for characteristic wise, WHW are saturated with in it. Tell you what. If whenever you have some time give "Vast Oceans Of lachrymose" and their latest album "Suspended at Aphelion" a nice listen.  If you feel like I do let me know. If not then PM myself as to why you might agree with the "epic doom" categorization. Anyhow, let's turn our attention back to Dennis! Many thanks to Jayem!! Helping my good friend/musician, Dennis for getting the exposure and rightful treatment with in PA. Today is a great day and I can't wait to read the bio. I guess when you cross paths with Crimson and Sabbath influences many justices will be served rightfully. Congrats Dennis!
