Starship Trooper.

I don't get what is your mean about "medium-length". What is your definitioan about it ? 10<Length<20 min ? or 15<Length<25 min or ...  but I guess you mean   7<Length<10.
I vote to Starship Trooper regardless of length of songs !

Well, there wasn't a specific length  I thought, but I'd say between 8-13. Not epics like Gates, Close to the Edge, or the ones in Tales and not shorter songs either.

If I could vote, I would go for Yours Is No Disgrace, actually (I have become such a big fan of the song lately!), though there certainly is a lot of competition on this list (Starship, Roundabout, Heart, AYAI, Sound, Machine).  However, I think this list is missing a few, namely Into the Lens, Silent Wings of Freedom, and Homeworld (The Ladder).  I'm guessing you can only put so many items on the poll widget.

As much as I love the classic Yes line-up, I have to vote for "Machine Messiah" because that is one helluva Yessong WITH BALLS.

Really hard between Starship Trooper, Roundabout, South Side of the Sky, And You And I, and Machine Messiah. I guess I could trim it down to South Side of the Sky and And You And I... but I just can't choose between those two.

Frankly, they all deserve a vote.  Nice to be reminded of how many truly great songs Yes produced - and that's even before you take the epics into account.  Knock out all four songs from TFTO plus Awaken, CTTE and Gates of Delirium, and you still have a range that is astonishing - Perpetual Change, Yours Is No Disgrace, AYAI, South Side of the Sky, Siberian Khatru, Roundabout, Heart of the Sunrise, plus all the others in this poll  - and Parallels, The Ladder, New Language and Turn of the Century didn't even get a mention.

It's no surprise that this is my all-time favorite band.

6. Starship Trooper
7. Heart Of The Sunrise
8. Machine Messiah
9. Roundabout
10. To Be Over
11. Perpetual Change
12. In The Presence Of

Yeah, that's a great song too. It was not only their last great classic masterpiece... it's also the first (and only one) since the 70's glory days. Not to say there aren't any other great songs in the 80's and 90's (and even 10's, for me), but this is the one that really captured what they were all about in the 70's. Also, the live version on... I think it was Live at Montreux... with Wakeman on keyboards is very beatiful too, the piano intro really comes to life in a way that's really missing on the original one... too bad the orchestra is missing on that one.

Starship Trooper is great indeed, but after hearing the live version from Keys to Ascension, the original Wurm section sounds just too tame in comparison... Wakeman actually sort of stole the section from Howe with his added keyboard solos.

Yes I love the live version with Wakeman too.Big smile When the song came out--I played it for a friend who liked 70's Yes---but moved on to other music---but when he heard ITPO---he said wow they captured the 70's magic .

80 votes in total so far - I don't recall ever seeing so many votes in one poll.

Funny, I thought Roundabout or And You and I would be the obvious choices, but look at all the love for other songs, especially Starship Trooper and Heart of the Sunrise.  Even In the Presence Of got a vote (I'm very partial to it myself, but because some of the lyrics are a bit cringe-worthy, couldn't call it a top choice).  Obviously the mid-lengths (of the best prog band ever) are as beloved as the epics.

Who knew?

I've really been digging Starship Trooper and Perpetual Change lately and Roundabout and Heart of the Sunrise were my favourite Yes tracks for a while but I'll have to go with Siberian Khatru just because it always gets overshadowed by the other two from Close To The Edge but is in my opinion equally brilliant.
