This is a Norwegian band with three albums out, primarily operating in the borderland between jazzrock and psychedelic rock, but also a band that know their ELP, Crimson and possibly Caravan as well.

or Jazz-Rock Fusion.

They've released four albums and I've understood the earlier ones are more fully fledged proggy jazzrock but so far I've only listened to their gentle and canterburyish http://https://open.spotify.com/album/43UUdZQntm40BMuiNutAH1?si=_QJ0gb3bTbGSmfxu3aSEdA" rel="nofollow - T http://https://open.spotify.com/album/43UUdZQntm40BMuiNutAH1?si=_QJ0gb3bTbGSmfxu3aSEdA" rel="nofollow - he Diary Of Robert Reverie (Spotify album-link) from 2018. This is the opening of Roger Farbey's review in All About Jazz:

Norwegian band Needlepoint's fourth release for BJK is an intriguing one, full of vocal-based songs that twist and turn at every opportunity. The near-title track "Robert Reverie" contains a skilfully fast and labyrinthine guitar solo from Bjørn Klakegg, underpinned by wistful words, riff-laden bass and keyboards. and energetic, surgically precise drumming. By contrast, Nikolai Hængsle's Hugh Hopper-esque fuzz bass heralds the opening to "On The Floor," which despite its relatively menacing beginnings, develops into a number resembling a cross between early Pink Floyd and Soft Machine.

So yeah more retro prog coming this way but I don't mind as long as it sounds like a lost peak era Caravan/Hatfield-gem. Many of you will love this I'm sure.

^Right! have they already been suggested? I did a search and nothing came up... Sure sound Canterbury to me but guess its kind of silly to lump a contemporary norwegian band into a geographically spesific early 70's scene... and whichever genre is fine by me. More or less

Hello!

Needlepoint from Norway is the project of long-time jazz guitarist Bjørn Klakegg and has released four albums. The last two appeared on many "best of" lists the year it was released (2016 and 2018), exceptional progressive jazz-rock.

I was going to suggest this band myself. I'm glad to see someone else did. My guess would be they might fit into crossover prog.
