Tape is multi-instrumentalists Johan Berthling, Andreas Berthling and Tomas Hallonsten. Between them they use (among other things) guitars, laptop, synthesizers, harmonium, melodica, harmonica, zither, piano, flute, accordion, trumpet and all manner of percussion. The band has six albums out on the Häpna label: Opera (2002), Milieu (2004), Rideau (2005), Luminarium (2008), Revelationes (2011) and Casino (2014).  There's also a collaborative vinyl-only EP with Bill Wells, Fugue, from 2010.

I won't try and describe the music they make other than to say that their last three albums are sublime and, for me, in the same bracket as the last two by Talk Talk. I don't know any higher praise for this kind of music.

^  Thanks for letting me know.

If they do get added to the site I am happy to write a bio, add albums etc (if I can muster the technical skills).

Just wondering if this one was rejected, or still pending...?

Oh, man. The team is back to slow-as-an-iceberg mode right now. Yay. Hopefully things won't take long but you can look for updates here:

I see the Youtube links I previously posted are now dead. Here's a couple more:

Bump for the hell of it!

Still on two listens from the team...

Yup, they've got two yes-votes, and are still missing my vote as I haven't gotten to them yet, but they're high on my list of bands to check out very soon.

Thank you for your patience.

Hell, no sweat as far as I'm concerned - I know what it's like being busy.

Thumbs Up No worries on the bump. Yup, been busy, but that situation has bettered lately. Will get to them sometime in the (hopefully) not-too-distant future.

A final bump before I let this one sink forever into obscurity...

^ Lol! There are currently 32 ongoing evaluations in the Post/Math Rock chart on progfreak, but only two of the six team members are actually active on there, and have already voted: http://progfreak.com/Tape-165537.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Tape-165537.html?path=pa/recent . Three team members haven't even logged in to PF for well over a year now, and the fourth did so just thirteen days ago, but hasn't cast a vote for about four months. The team is probably best described as 'dysfunctional' at the moment, but as is often said when these sorts of issues are raised..."Hey - we're only volunteers!"

I know everyone on here has a real life, which has to take priority over PA matters of course, but if you can't visit progfreak to carry out any evaluation duties in over twelve months, then I think you should let admins know that you are no longer able to do so, so that they can look for a replacement team member. PA is losing its credibility to a certain extent right now with a number of our evaluation teams virtually at a standstill at the moment.

With the annual Christmas recess period finally well and truly over, the issue now needs addressing quite urgently imho.

Sorry for the long wait. They're cleared now. Care to write a bio on them? If so, either post it here or PM me. Thanks.

A nice surprise, thanks - I’d almost forgotten about this!

I’ll certainly write a bio. May take me a few days to get to it, but I guess that won't matter too much.
