Going by the base, low vibrational energy of "Hate" and using my birth year, despite most of you clearly being older...

Which of the following Prime Ministers of the UK did you hate? From sight, sound, policy and general feeling?

I've been able to get over the impact of Thatcher and Blair. Thanks to David Cameron being in power! Angry

None of them. My hate has been redirected to the Evil Union. David Cameron is but one of their choirboys, as are all the European PM's in office. Moreover, I don;t even live in the UK. And how could I ever hate Margaret Thatcher, who has proved to be of great value being a source of inspiration for The Final Cut?

I remember what Alexei Sayle said, "have you noticed how every Prime Minister has made the last one seem not so bad after all? How Wilson made Heath seem not so bad, Callaghan made Wilson seem not so bad and now Thatcher has made Callaghan seem not so bad.  Blimey! Whats the next Prime minister going to have to be like to make Thatcher seem not so bad after all?"
And amazingly they actually managed to replace that terrible woman with someone even worse. It was inconceivable at the time that anyone could be worse than that monster Thatcher, but Major turned out to be even worse.
He was responsible for breaking up and destroying British Rail which was the most efficent  nationalised railway on the planet (yes really) and replaced it by an unworkable mess. He lied on the radio when he said that the British Railways Board was deeply innefiecient, which was of course bollocks.   The 1993 Railways act was surely the most apalling and unneccesary piece of legislation for decades.  Ofr course British Rail wasn't perfect  especially in its early days with the flawed modernistation plan, but after Sectoristation in 1982 it became an extremely effiecent organisation. Major undid a lot of the good work that Clement Atlee did.

Hate is an over-used word and I struggle to be that emotive over a politician. As a socialist I tend to distrust all Tories but frankly I've not been enamoured by any Labour leader either (with the exception of the late John Smith whose untimely death led to the rise of Blair). As David has observed in confirming Alexei Sayle, each successive PM has made the previous one seem not so bad, but I have to wonder how much that is a direct consequence of the damage caused by Thatcher. In his ten years as PM Blair could have undone all that Thatcher & Major created, yet he didn't. Now Cameron is now hell-bent on fulfilling her legacy and he will destroy the NHS and Education just as Major wrecked British Rail.

I hate to be pedantic, but Brown and Cameron are 21st century PM's. Plus, Cleggers was only Deputy Dawg.

To answer the question, in terms of being utterly and hopelessly incompetent, Major probably took the prize. Having said that, there is not one of them worth a masturbatory glance at all.

Gah! My annoyance to make a poll so I could actually vote for Cameron blinded me to the title of the poll!
And I also wrote "Why" instead of "Who"!
Thanks for your voting. And I remember John Major, I'd just left school and contrary opinion, my time on Jobseeker's Allowance (I was there when it got it's name changed from "Unemployment Benefit" was spent making music with people. Nothing came of it, but I would never have got the time under Blair's New Deal unemployment drive or any time in the 2000's (How many pointless courses can they send you on to get stuff nobody will read on your CV!).

In fact, I think music in general is going to suffer due to the unemployed being the target, so a lot of musicians either crack up or go for the easy X Factor route.
While those musicians who are young and are playing now are grateful for every second their bands play!

No time for any of them to be honest, apart from Wilson but that's only because I'm too young to remember him.

Politics is showbiz for ugly people.

Well at least Dubya had the 9/11 effect! Before that happened everyone was thinking "THE MAN IS A MORON!" and after 9/11, everyone thought "Oh that's terrible! And what's worse... their president is still a moron!!"

So there's hope for Trump yet! Shocked

lmao.  No doubt man.  I'm amazed by the number of people that write him off.  Since when has good understand of issues and competence mattered a damn to the electorate here.

I'm angry.. so f**k it ..burn the bitch down. Who cares if he is barely qualified to run a business... much less a country.

He has twice the brains of dubya, twice the charisma, and thus is ..hmmm  16 times more dangerous.

Hillary runs roughshod over the others in that field..

but Trump?  Who knows.  The bounds of stupidity of the American electorate has yet to have bottomed out I'm afraid.

Thatcher easily, she destroyed the infrastructure of the country for the betterment of her lackeys and set the tone for all the terrible PM's that followed her in both parties, I tend to agree with Dean was a rare highlight. I've been out of the the country for 17 years so its hard to keep up but I have the say the UK pols have nothing on the loonies of all shades here in the states.

the pols Ian? or the electorate. It isn't the pols.. they are just vote chasers..canned soundbites to pander for votes and often to the loonies to tell them what they want to hear... it is the loony electorate who make the nutty pols. Not the other way around.

I still shake my head in disbelieve in this age of supposed enlightenment and you have politicians discussing deporting or not allowing people in based on their religion.

especially here... the land of freedom and opportunity... the refuge for the persecuted and those that want a better life.

hello.. this is the goddamned United States of America. or was at least.   LOL

some times I feel as this country has forgotten that.. and just what the foundations this country was based upon actually were.

It's got nothing to do with the electorate (though they are clueless enough), all pols in the USA are bought and paid for by the oligarchs. The choices are limited to the only evils the two party one ideology the 1% put forward.
