Riverside's Facebook page has the following statement: In our deepest pain and disbelief we would like to inform you that our dearest friend and brother Piotr Grudzinski has passed away this morning. This is really tragic news. Though I cannot say I am a fan of the band, we saw them at NEARfest in 2010, and their set was excellent. They also struck me as genuinely nice guys, and of course way too young for any of them to leave this planet. This year is really proving to be one of the worst. |

This is really sad, way too soon. I'm glad I saw them last October, his performance was really inspiring. |

Very, very sad news. ------------------------ NEWS / JERRY EWING / 21 FEB 2016 31 SHARES MORE Piotr Grudzinski Passes Away Aged 40 Riverside guitarist Piotr Grudzinski has died, according to a statement on the Polish band's website. In a short statement the band simply say: "In our deepest pain and disbelief we would like to inform you that our dearest friend and brother Piotr Grudzinski has passed away this morning. We kindly ask you to respect the privacy of his family and friends." The band had been preparing for a Polish tour with support acts Lion Shepherd and Sounds Like The End Of The World. They are also booked to headline this year's RoSFest on the Saturday night. There are no further details as yet, although unconfirmed reports online suggest Grudzinski had attended a show by The Winery Dogs in Warsaw last night.. |

I spun all my Riverside records yesterday in order, the magic is so apparent. Still cannot believe he is gone, whatever the reason is the end result is very sad for music. -------------

The world has become a much, much poorer place with his passing. His guitar playing has been one of the highlights in music over the last 10 years. The last section of Reality Dream off Out of Myself is just stunning, and there are many more examples of why he was so special. RIP. ------------- A TVR is not a car. It's a way of life. |

O, sh**. I can't believe I'm big fan of Riverside. Their music touched some strings in my soul. I never was so sad about musician death, since Chris Squire(Yes) passed away. This is a huge loss for the band and their fans RIP |

I bought the Reality Dream Trilogy box set in Piotr's honor. I've been pretty hurt by this news for the last couple of weeks. It's time I honored one of the finest emotional guitar soloist this planet has to offer. Just 41 as well? Gosh that's so young. I think maybe the band new Pitor was sick or something cause Towards the blue horizon is waaaay to prophetic lyrically to be without prior knowledge of PG's health. ------------- Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣 |

I understand it was a heart attack, totally unexpected. The song "Towards the blue Horizon" was about a very close friend from Mariuz that died the same or the year before the album was released. And now this happens... |
