I love this album. It is probably one of the more accessible(?) albums from the ones I've heard. ( the other ones being "Lightbulb Sun" and "Sky Moves Sideways) Hell, a couple of the tunes could conceivably be played on the radio!!!&nb

Damm. this one is really bad, just as others Porcupinetree CDs. Nothing is prog or spacey here...just an horrible collection of variety pop songs.

Bringing this thread back, since it's a great album. However, to those of you who didn't like it, I'd suggest giving their pre-Stupid Dream stuff a go. Up the Downstair and The Sky Moves Sideways are more psychedelic and progressive.

I liked in Absentia, I notice someone calls it "Pop Music" (at least I assume that's what you were talking about) That's a bit harsh I think, the lyrics are a bit dark, and the tracks too long to be pop. I like the ability Porcupine tree show to

I think that "In Absentia" is an amazing album. Porcupine Tree is influenced by Pink Floyd, but what's the problem with that? " Heartattack in a lay by" is one of my favourtive songs ever!!! Dark, emotive...

Excellent cd. Blackest Eyes, Train, Sound of Musak and Prodigal are my favorites. Although the songs are short, they don't strike me as pop at all; way too diverse, interesting and spacey for pop.
