Two bands with a persons name in the band name, and whos music is both well produced, stunningly played, and emotional and with tremendous vocal preformances.

MMEB gets my vote. Not a huge fan of either, but MMEB hits the spot more often. Roaring Silence, Solar Fire and Nightingales and bombers are all great albums. APP always leaves me wanting more. They don't excite me. I Robot has its moments. ------------- Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy! |

I vastly prefer the sole MMEB ablum I've got (Solar Fire) to my three from APP (Tales of Mystery and Imagination - Edgar Allan Poe, The Turn of a Friendly Card and Eye in the Sky), so this was an easy choice. -------------

I am a HUGE fan of MMEB. Specially 70's Albums . People looking to MMEB as a "Hit Maker Band" (as moshkito said and he right about it) but they have many great stuffs for Progressive Rock fans too. I pick MMEB easily!

Both of these bands were pretty big when I got into music in 1979/80. MMEB was my first encounter with progressive rock and opened up an exciting world of music for me. APP was a favourite of my best friend at the time who also got into progressive, I kinda liked them but they had nowhere near the impact on me that MMEB would have. These days I still treasure the Earthband but hardly listen to APP. |
