The Aural Moon website is no longer responding - I get "Server not found". Ping is not reaching the server either. The stream is still going though.

Any one knows what happened? The last time the website was down it was an hurricane that landed over the US east coast.

No news of any Eastcoast hurricane here (just flooding in Texas), though there is a cable/landline strike in NY that still may be going on.

Actually, you can see the cause in the last messages left in the Speakeasy (the instant message widget in the web site). Aural Moon was (is being?) targeted by a DOS attack.

This absolutely sucks. The e-mail service I use was attacked a few months ago, in the process the attackers managed to bring down dozens of routing servers in multiple countries.

I am back from a shot vacation and the web site is still down; this time I get a "Database error". I doubt a DOS attack would knock out the website for so long.

Doesn't anyone here listen to AM? Any hints to share on what may be going on?

And interestingly enough, the radio stream is still alive.

Perhaps it simply died of neglect. One would hope the same for this thread.

Yep. As a regular listener I noticed that too. I also noticed that site was down also recently. ;) It happens to all the great prog sites. I think progressive ears has also been down at one point or another.
