Inspired by bonjouraurevoir's recent Marsupilami poll. Choose your favourite of these three songs with a long coda.

Chris Squire:

Unhappy whatever... I've come to accept certain proclivities of the general forum membership.. this one I've never understand. The lack of appreciation for Squire's album.. a masterpiece..

Safe...

I accidentally voted for the VdGG, a force of habit, but I actually meant to go for the Squire, I love that track even if it's more musically "Safe" than Meurglys III. That Discipline singing really reminds me of Hammill, by the way.

I fully agree with this. Safe is my choice here as well. I love Squire's bass playing and the rather classic theme in 11/4.

Safe > Wgen She Dreams She Dreams in Color > Meurglys III

(20+ minute epics were not VdGG's strongest side imho)

I feel the same about Matthew Parmenters vocals I listened earlier this day to his solo album All Our Yesterdays. 4-star stuff in my book with a feel of heavily Hammill-infused classic mid-70's ballads.

I voted for Discipline. Really love that track, but it is the only one I return to from that particular album. I quite like the Van Damme tune as well. Not really a fan of Squire's fish, but this track is ok.

Meurglys III, weakest VdGG song ever IMO - Hammill's angsty lyrics becoming absolutely self-parodic on this one.  I mean I'm a fan, but not everything's good.

Pretty much of a tie between the other two for me.

Going with Discipline on this one...
