Did my best trying to pick artists, who seem to get the most praise. Obviously, I'm sure I did not include many great acts. Included Arti e Mestieri as a little bonus.

I listened to a lot of RPI, two years ago it was more important for me than to eat. LOL There are 4 albums that I cherish and that are not on that list.

I wouldn't begin to know how to answer this! For instance, Goblin's `Roller' is one of my absolute favourite albums (could be my number 1 all-time album actually), but I would never overall claim the group as one of the actual favourite Italian bands.

Looking down the list, pretty much every single one of these artists has put out a top-notch album that could easily make it into a collection of essential Italian discs....

Sadly, no vote!

And once again I vote for Maxophone...

I really stayed in doubt between Locanda Delle Fate and Maxophone ( very cruel decision) both are outstanding.... although by the more symphonic-prog approach, my choice is Locanda Delle Fate !!!

So much options! I vote for Alphataurus, because along with their classic stuff, I really like the 2012 album AttosecondO.
Outside the list I have to mention: Raccomandata Ricevuta Ritorno, Campo di Marte and Biglietto per l'Inferno.

Hmm, what about Deus ex Machina or DFA?  Too modern?

I wanted to stick with acts from the "classic era."

Brilliant selection though.

Battiato by a pubic hair over Osanna. Both are top 5 favorite prog artists for me... lots of exceptional choices.. and finally filled out by the merely great

Have you ever thought about wearing pant suits Mick? Just saw the array of colored pant suits worn by your next President at the bottom of your page. Not sure if you'd wear them to work but they'd certainly work for lounging around the house or even raking leaves. Versatile is the word.

I know every band except Procession and Festa Mobile. Since it's impossible to vote for the best, I voted for QVL because I heard their debut last night Wink

I threw a vote to Semiramis.
Their heavy parts are intense with guitar and keyboards and their mellower parts are nice.

First vote for Latte e Miele! Their debut album is one of my all time favorites, and the new version is just as good! And they have several other excellent albums as well, classic and modern.

But so many essential bands on this list!

Just beat out Osanna, QVL, BdB, and Alphataurus, Museo Rosenbach, and Procession.

I thought I would take a bit of time before voting here, but still - I just can't. The band that is the closest to being my #1 is Cervello, but Museo Rosenbach, Area, Osanna, Arti e Mestieri, and Balletto are really close behind. Still can't vote.
