Only in America ????? Confused

But this time he is an Aussie - Oh no!!!!!

HE’S been described as evangelist, an inspiration, a creationist, a Christian apologetic, dangerous religious fanatic, a science-denier and the Australian Noah.

Ken Ham used to be a Brisbane science teacher. Three decades on, he’s one of the most polarising and powerful religious leaders in America’s Bible Belt.

Ham believes evolution is a fraud, the world is only 6000 years old and was created in six days, the Book of Genesis is historical fact and homosexuality is a sin.

Now, the founder and president of Answers In Genesis (AiG) has built a life-size Noah’s ark.

The privately funded $100 million monolith in Kentucky is seven storeys high, about 200m long and the biggest timber-framed structure on the planet.

Major NutJob, So glad he left OzEmbarrassed

So?

What's the problem?
The soccer-religion has more followers and their temples (stadiums) cost a fortune (but not privately funded, bu through taxmoney).

At least this guy comes up with his own money. I don't seem him harming anyone, regardless of his destestable homophopic stance.

I just read an article somewhere about this. Turns out the ark museum is a total financial bust. It takes a lot of nerve to utterly shun centuries of scientific discovery and a special kind of stupid, so it's no wonder that in today's world with instant verification of historical facts on the internet and all that such 11th century thinking would flounder in the 21st century

300.1 cubit arks are expensive in the non-imaginary world.

Ken Ham is actually one of the many proofs of my Theory of Unintelligent Design.

If it was true that humanity was the result of a process of evolution involving hundreds of millions of years of natural selection, resulting in the propagation of individuals ever more fitted to thrive in their environment, someone this stupid couldn't actually be the result.

Therefore God as a creator and guiding mind must exist, and is either:

(a) sh*t at designing things; or

(b) just f**king with us.

Oh this is definitely no big achievement, let's remember Real Person Noah built the same thing without the modern equipment seen in that image.

He also did it without iron or steel, or any prior knowledge of ocean-going ship building or zoo management, but fortunately he did have access to vast forests of gopher trees (unfortunately the last living gopher tree was used to construct the ark).

One has to assume that all the dinosaurs that were taken in two by two (or is that seven by seven? Were dinos clean animals?) were consumed by the carnivorous animals hence why none have survived to this day. Shame really, but valiant effort.

Kudos to Noah. If I had been him, insects would've gone extinct (which probably would've caused our extinction too but alas, at least the voyage through the seas would've been smooth).

In terms of biblical chronology Noah was only 4,300 years ago (give or take) and according to mr Ham, there were dinosaurs in the ark.

Look at it this way - while the atheists continue to play the game according to the rules of chess, creationists have chosen to play using a different set of rules where there is only one piece and that can move in mysterious ways while occupying all the squares all at the same time.

Originally posted by timothy leary timothy leary wrote:

But nothing compared to the chore of cleaning up after them (or more graphically, behind them), apparently the animals were aboard the ark for 375 days (some creationist has done the maths and for once I'm not going to question their numbers) which adds up to quite a lot of solid and liquid effluent that had to be collected and disposed of by the 8 humans.

At least the creationists wouldn't needed to bother about fertiliser, when they landed in their miss-guided theory. They seem to be very good at producing it in volumes.............

Right. if Trump can be convinced that the wall needs to enclose the whole of the USA or the migrants will just nip round the ends then we can test Ham's ark.

Partly by the state, actually.
Kentucky's Governor, the oh so wonderful Matt Bevin, allowed an $18 million tax break to go the amusement park.
The guy wants to make drastic cuts to education, but clearly a Christian themed amusement park is A OK to get government $!
