It's a pity Steamhammer is noy the list. They are definitely my favorite British Blues Boom band. From here, I will go with Black Cat Bones, closely followed by Blodwyn Pig and Groundhogs.

What about Rolling Stones? Led Zeppelin? Jethro Tull (early), Free, Blind Faith, Steamhammer, Savoy Brown, Sam Apple Pie, Bakerloo, Spirit Of John Morgan, The Animals, Climax Blues Band, Killing Floor, Juicy Lucy, Humble Pie, Siren, The Battered Ornaments and Creepy John Thomas?

Technically The Jimi Hendrix Experience formed in the UK as well

On this list a toss between Groundhogs and Ten Years After. I'll go for 10 years

...plus.... The Edgar Broughton Band... Followed by Stray.

Anyway, moving swiftly along, I voted for nanny McPhee and his two chums

I have to pick Cream....love their work even though they only did a handful of actual albums....but I also love Peter Green, Chicken Shack, TYA, Blodwyn, Groundhogs, etc....hell all of those are worth owning imho.

I was very much into the British blues movement so a lot of these bands are my favorites from that period. I guess I got into it when Clapton left The Yardbirds and joined John Mayall's Blues Breakers.
My vote goes to the original Jeff Beck Group. The debut, Truth is more blues based since the second album Beck-Ola was full blown hard rock.

Cool could have added lots more from your list I would have incuded- if I thought of them at the time-
Steamhammer, Savoy Brown, Climax Blues Band and Juicy Lucy and maybe early Jethro Tull - only picking blues blues band here -not try it for a couple of tracks groups

Don't know Siren, The Battered Ornaments, Siren, Killing Floor, Sam Apple Pie, Spirit Of John Morgan and Creepy John Thomas

From the list, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, Cream and Ten Years After. Jeff Beck was great too, although only his first album was blues, technically-speaking.

Also liked Humble Pie and Savoy Brown.

Pretty much everything on this list is blues rock, not blues proper so i'd say the Stones are a legit addition

Jagger hated the idea of being regarded as a rock band in the early '60s. "We're a blues band, I hope they don''t think we're rock and roll".

Unfortunately the Rolling Stones ventured into the avant garde and psychedelia (Satanic Majesties and We Love You), even worked with a choir (You Can't Always Get What You Want) and more extended rock works (Gimme Shelter), theatrics (Midnight Rambler.

At this rate they could be a prog rock band.WinkLOL

Fortunately by staying with Blues, R and B, soul, country, reggae (roots music) and all that jazz the band that did not want to be regarded as rock became, well, some say the greatest ever. And managed to avoid any further forays into prog land.

Phew, that was close.

Phew that was close - on was on the edge right to the end- couldn't have said it better myself.....

Footnote - the band played and played and play on forever until the end of time (maybe time is on their side?)Cool
