Amused To Death has the best production and sounds like he really worked his arse off to make it.
But I've got a soft spot for "The Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking".
It wouldn't work as a Pink Floyd album, and they were right to choose The Wall over it.
But I just like it. Probably because there are some lighter moments on the album.
Although lighter by comparison with his other material both solo and in the band!

Amused to Death for me. I like Pros and Cons all right, but it sounds too much like a half-baked demo version of The Final Wall. I always thought Radio KAOS was a bit cheesy.

Pros and Cons is a masterpiece, I love it far more than any post-70s Floyd.

But Amused to Death had a huge impact on me, the music is great but the message and themes on the album completely speaks deep to the heart every time. It's quite nihilistic, but it's almost prophetic too. A lot of existential things are opened up on that album for me, but it may be just me, I don't know

Classical music isn't dead, it's more alive than it's ever been. It's just not on MTV.

^Wow! Some people, like yourself, are deeply moved by this particular Waters solo album. Sometimes we need something outside of ourselves to a open a new avenue of thinking for us. I'm glad that you found one with AtD.

Also, on Pros & Cons, this ballad has always been powerful to me:

Just a passing though, but what if Leonard cohen covered that? Cry

It's obvious the winner would be Amused to Death, and it's just the one I prefer too.

Amused to Death, obviously the best solo album of any Pink Floyd member.

Agreed, though I do quite enjoy Wet Dream by Rick Wright.

I pretty much despise  Amused to Death

I would rather listen to any Wright solo or any Gilmour solo than ATD

no vote for this poll
