Bio from their own website: http://www.carewornmusic.com/" rel="nofollow - http://www.carewornmusic.com/ .
"Careworn is an alternative/progressive rock project that was formed by students John Morishel and Nye James at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield in 2013.
Originally coming from very different musical backgrounds, the project was set up by the two for the purpose of developing their musical collaboration skills.
After recording and working on various demo songs together they took to performing a few live acoustic sets at open mic nights around London, and evolved into a fully formed musical project.
They gradually assembled a sufficient amount of material for Careworn throughout the autumn of 2015, collaborating together on songs they had written at various points in the previous five years.
Nye provided drums, keyboard/piano and the bulk of the guitar recording for the project, John provided the lead vocals and tracked some supporting acoustic guitar parts. Their housemate, Matt Good, was also later recruited to track bass for the album which was recorded throughout early 2016. The debut album 'The Hill' was released in March of that year. A second follow up album is underway and set for release in 2017."
2016: 'THE HILL'
"The Hill has influences ranging from Ben Howard to Porcupine Tree. Most of the album is arranged for a 5 piece rock band, with two smaller acoustic songs: Beneath the Surface and Vitality. It was released on the 13 of March 2016 on https://carewornmusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-hill-remastered" rel="nofollow - Bandcamp , with a full stream of the album complete with the artwork and lyrics available on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0imHozQzMDs" rel="nofollow - Youtube ."
See also https://www.facebook.com/carewornmusic/" rel="nofollow - https://www.facebook.com/carewornmusic/ , where there are currently just 50 'likes'...which is criminal for music as good as this.
The band has already been added to progfreak at the time of the album's release by our old friend Svetonio, who would already have proposed them for inclusion if he was still around on here: http://progfreak.com/Careworn-165907.html" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Careworn-165907.html . I discovered the band myself only today after hearing the track 'Let it End' on Garry Foster's 'The Prog Rock Files' radio show on Wolverhampton UK's http://www.wcrfm.com/" rel="nofollow - WCRFM 101.8 .
This might considered a borderline case by some of the more hawkish members on here, as the music is highly melodic - and has an alternative rock feel to it in places - but a lot of folks are going to enjoy this album believe me...and I make no apologies for posting this thread if it ultimately does end in rejection.
This band deserves to be heard...period!

^ Yes - on balance over the full 38 or so minutes the music probably lies somewhere between alternative rock and crossover prog, some songs being closer to the former, and others to the latter - but music from the album has been played recently on a prog radio show (the track 'Let it End', at least), and it is such a damn fine album for a debut by an unknown artist that I felt I had to give the guys an airing on here, and a chance at being included on the site. At the very least it will give them some much needed exposure, 'cos they certainly deserve it for such a commendable first outing, and it will be interesting to see in what direction they go with the follow up which is scheduled for release next year.

The name of the band has been changed to 'LongCall' in preparation for the second album. Release will be in a few months time. The bandcamp page for 'The Hill' album no longer exists, but it is still available to listen to on YouTube.
