Pareidolon was formed in September 2015 by bassist/guitarist/songwriter/producer/bandleader Lachlan Tocher for a one-off graduation showcase recital in music college, featuring six other classmates/friends - Ashley Pearce and Branden Green on guitars, Anna Backus on keys, Brittany Keller and Jonathan Kwak on vocals, and Aybars Savat on drums. The group used the free time in between final exams to record the material in the studio with all volunteer participants and a little over a year later their debut album "Aporķa" was released. They draw their influences from classic prog bands like Camel, Marillion and Genesis as well as newer acts such as Steven Wilson, Anathema, Riverside and more. Despite the temporary situation that led to their formation, work on the second album is already underway and all band members are expected to return.

The whole album is available for free streaming and download from https://pareidolon.bandcamp.com/album/apor-a" rel="nofollow - Bandcamp

(Wasn't sure what subgenre would be best because the songs kinda go all over the place... I'll just leave that up to you guys I guess.)

Thank you!

Cool, thank you! Is that a different site though? Not sure how things work around here still haha.

Progfreak.com is a facility owned and run by Michael Riess, a long time member here, and the 'PA' area of the site is used by about half of the progarchives evaluation teams to record their votes and track their evaluations. The Crossover team currently consists of four members, and three of them have already voted 'yes' for your inclusion here. Once the fourth vote is logged, as long as it's not an outright 'no', you will become 'cleared', and will just need one of the three special collaborators within the team to create your page here on PA. Once that happens your status on progfreak will change form 'cleared' to 'added', and hopefully the link to your page on this site will be posted in this thread.

The Aporķa album is actually quite excellent - I can't possibly imagine any other outcome than a fourth straight 'yes' vote. Thumbs Up

Thanks for your reply, everything makes a lot more sense now! Also glad you enjoyed the album, and I'll give that link a read-up.
