Which Rush song is more beloved by you?

For me Freewill all the way, because Lifeson's guitar work and Geddy's bass work stand out much more in this song than RB.

Oh boy, this will be tough. Two of my all time favorite Rush tunes. Gonna have to think about this

Once again I vote for Red Barchetta.

Two of the best songs from their last great era, that pleasant rebound from Hemispheres.  Slight edge to Freewill.

Now this actually is a tough choice. Both great hard rock numbers. I think I'll go with Freewill in the end, though.

I'll go for Freewill, mainly for that amazing instrumental section.

Two votes in a row from me for Red Barchetta.  Not that Spirit of Radio isn't great too.

Freewill is great, but any song about driving fast gets my vote.

Playing Red Barchetta whilst lapping Croft racing circuit in a 4.5l sports car is hard to beat.

If driving fast in a cool car that you found in a barn, down some mountainside roads is OVERRATED or MEDIOCRE, then you my friend enjoy your walk in the park feeding the birds LOL

I bet none of Rush guys was a good driver of fast sports cars. So I don't get why then they made a song about fast car.

I choose Freewill.

One of Lifeson's best solos in that track.

Tough one but I love the guitar solo in Freewill. Freewill for me.

I bet none of them were philosophers either... didn't stop them from writing songs about that Tongue

17:12 votes for RB? I really don't get why is Red Barchetta the most beloved Rush song everywhere. What is so SPECIAL and UNIQUE about that song, can someone explain me?

Why does it have to be SPECIAL and UNIQUE? Why can't it simply be because people like the song better?

It's a fast-paced song about cars with a catchy riff. Sounds awesome when you're driving. Nuthin' much to it.

In all fairness, there's not exactly much special or unique about Free Will either.

*insert joke about how this applies to all Rush songs*

To be fair I really like R30 and ESL version of song Red Barchetta, it's really great. But the studio version on Moving Pictures is totally decent to my ears and nothing special.

Was expecting Freewill to win for the guitar/bass/drum solo. Glad to see Red Barchetta winning because it's getting my vote too.

Granted with practically every Rush song you're looking at about a half-cheese, half-serious experience. What you gravitate towards more is up to you. Barchetta is the good, well-aged cheese, though.

Freewill is a fantastic song , a classic tune whit a great performance of  Rush, however... Red Barchetta is  more varied , starting with guitar harmonics in counterpoint with bass , and following mixing hard/prog in a perfect way !

Both are great songs but I went with Freewill. One of the  the best examples of shifting through different time signatures of any songs I have ever encountered.

If you choose to decide, your choice is made through freewill. For once it's the lyric that decide me on a tune.

Red Barchetta, another song about a car could've been done by the Beach Boys. If they were a brilliant prog band.

Great. Now I have "Little Deuce Barchetta" in my head. Thanks a lot Pinch
