Vangough (US) for Metal Prog

BAND
Vangough is a three-piece, American progressive metal band. Their eclectic brand of songwriting straddles the line between the familiar and the volatile - a temperamental cocktail that invites both heavy metal fans and those seeking refuge from the beaten path. With an ever-growing catalog of acclaimed releases under their belt, Vangough continue to captivate their fanbase with the unexpected and, as Prog Rock Music Talk points out, “are the future of progressive metal.”

CLAY WITHROW
Guitarist and vocalist Clay started Vangough in late 2008 when he first came into contact with drummer Brandon Lopez who agreed to help with the recording of what would be their first album, Manikin Parade (2009). Since then Clay has gone on to write and produce all of the band's albums. Other activities include touring as stand-in guitarist with Swedish band Pain of Salvation in 2013 and 2014 on their North American tour and ProgNation Festival performances.

KYLE HAWS
Kyle joined Vangough as drummer in 2011 just on the eve of releasing the band's second album, Kingdom of Ruin. Former drummer Brandon Lopez had suggested Kyle as a possible replacement, which as it turned out was the perfect fit. With his bombastic debut on 2013's Between the Madness, Kyle continues to propel Vangough forward with his precise and relentless drumming.

JEREN MARTIN
Jeren joined Vangough as bassist in 2010 at the suggestion of then-drummer Brandon Lopez to record bass for their second album, Kingdom of Ruin (2011). Jeren has since become an instrumental component to the band's musical style and arrangements, working closely with vocalist Clay Withrow to arrange the critical acclaimed Between the Madness (2013).
