Which didn't please Damian much it seems as I don't think he was aware they needed a new vocalist.

Actually, the "new" singer is Glynn Morgan, who sang with them back before Mac. He sang on the Psychedelicatessen  album.

good! Now maybe Damien can start a neo-prog band similar to Landmarq!

agreed. All That You Fear Is Gone was my favourite album of last year.

Just got the new Threshold album but not had a chance to listen to it yet.

Threshold's new album - Legends of the Shires - is wonderful! A great blend of real 'prog' but with a balanced metal edge. Powerful vocals, catchy melodies and a real class act. My favourite album of this year at present - despite only really noticing them after all these years from their previous album. Epic - highly recommended!

Its okay but not clear to me why it needed to be a 2 CD set. Reminds me a little of Dream Theater's The Astonishing which is not a bad thing as I quite liked that. However 2 CD's is just a bit too much like hard work for me so generally they end up on a shelf never getting played.

A band with a limited sound like Marillion and Threshold should not be making double albums (double cds).
I took me years and years to fully grasp Marbles (and still there are stinkers on it) and Happiness is the Road still doesn't have my full attention.
The only double album I play in it's entirety each team is Subterrenea by IQ.

That being said, Legends of the Shires holds up pretty well. I haven't been bored listening to it, and the album is finished before I know it. Also in the digital age, you can play a double album from start to finish without having to turn a LP or change a CD.
