is this a fare fight, perhaps not, but i discovered that the Verve is no ordinary band with hits, but a pyschadelic band whom dabbles in shoegace and dream pop, which are delightfull genres. like Radiohead they expolred sounds and expressions in wide ways but while Radiohead have expressed themselvs in over 8 albums, the verve only has 4 albums, yet fully respectfull band.

whom do yo prefare

The Verve is very good. Radiohead is excellent and gets my vote.

No comparison. Radiohead by square miles. Radiohead are also not an indie band IMO. They are a prog related rock band, or an art rock band.

The Verve are boring as hell, with the exception of a couple of tunes. A forerunner of Coldplay. Not really indie, but kind of mainstream middle class indie....

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

The Verve's `A Storm in Heaven' is amazing, as are a string of their early singles and EP's from that same era, pretty much all brilliant dreamy psychedelic rock. It's truly a world away from the more straight-forward direction they very quickly headed in...and absolutely forget that `Bitter Sweet Symphony' nonsense (although that `Urban Hymns' disc is pretty OK for a `mainstream rock' album).
