We can only vote for one album but it's OK. Here is my list: 1.Within the Realm of a Dying Sun (9/10) 2.Aion (8/10) 3.Dead Can Dance (7/10) 4.The Serpent's Egg (7/10) 5.Spiritchaser (7/10) 6.Spleen and Ideal (7/10) 7.Into the Labyrinth (6/10) 8.Anastasis (5/10) As a Greek I can say that some of the melodies and themes hit close to home. I first listened to DCD near Easter 2015 and the band has stuck with me since, carrying a religious vibe. My number one pick from then is by far their best, especially the song "Summoning of the Muse" which is one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard. The album cover is stunning, one of the most fitting covers I've seen. Aion is a great listen, very diverse and interesting, with a beautiful album cover. Dead Can Dance is rocky, raw and fast-paced here and there. The Serpent's Egg is very uneven and drags for a bit, but the highs are great. Spiritchaser is an underrated, nice album. Spleen and Ideal is weird. I don't know how to rate it really, I don't have a strong opinion. Into the Labyrinth bored me the one and only time I listened to it and so did Anastasis (meaning resurrection in Greek, another Easter thing coincidentally), but to a greater degree. I say, since it's Easter time again, you guys should browse their discography. I'll get on with other similar bands, like This Mortal Coil and Cocteau Twins this time. |

typical.... I am from Venus... not sure where the f**k the rest of you are from. first vote for Spiritchaser... that was the album that got me into them after quite a lot of prodding from my better half. Have grown to like the other albums.. but that album ... adore it and love it... it rules. |

I've tried only about 10 or so times to respond to this comment, and security keeps annoying and glitching out on me. Very stressful.  Anyways, I do not celebrate Easter, but I will make sure to check them out for their music. I've listened quite a bit to their self-titled album, as well as Aanstasis, and they sound nice. At the top of my list to try is the Alan Parsons Project and Grateful Dead. I've been listening a lot to Soft Machine lately and (please don't hate me) Slipknot. Once you get past all of the profanity and mainstream sound and success, they're quite good. Not related, but yes, very good. I do like Alan Parsons Project well enough. You should try first his first album, and then the second (Tales of Mystery and Imagination, and I Robot). And the song La Sagrada Familia (though that may not be the most popular opinion). |

Keep a copy of your final message and paste it in a refreshed page. It should work without problems. I don't celebrate Easter either, but it is nice to let yourself get fooled and go with the tide for a while, every now and then. Every decent magician knows that  Be sure to check out Anathema. They will release their new album in a couple of months, so the timing is perfect. My suggestions are in your old thread. Never touched Slipknot. Someday, maybe... I didn't know Phish was a band. The only music-related fish I knew was the Marillion one  . Will have them in mind.

i did try Riverside, and I appreciate them more than I actually listen to them. I've tried a decent amount of Anathema, and they're pretty good. Phish and Slipknot are two bands from genres that I'm ok with. Phish take their jam band label further though, just like the Grateful Dead. From them, I'd recommend Junta, Farmhouse, and all of their live stuff. Starters on their awesome discovery. Slipknot takes the mainstream-sounding nu metal and alternative metal (trash metal) way further. Their fan base is the same as that of many bands that I hat from their genre. Their music, though, has way more variation, energy, and rawness to it. It's almost addicting. Recommended albums are .5: The Gray Chapter and Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses.
