isn't there a saying "after the festival is before the festival"? :)

The next edition of "Europe's biggest Progressive Rock festival" takes place again at the Loreley Freilichtbuehne in Germany at the river Rhine at the weekend from Friday 13th July to Sunday, 15th July (yes, this unfortunately collides with the final of the World Soccer Championships, but at least the Dutch audience won't have a problem with that Wink )

Confirmed bands so far:

Big Big Train (Friday 13th, 2018)
Riverside (Friday 13th, 2018)

Mystery (Saturday, 14th, 2018)
Camel (Saturday, 14th, 2018)

Anubis (Sunday, 15th, 2018)
Gentle Knife
(Sunday, 15th, 2018)

"3 times Prog Magazine's Progressive Music Award Winner in different categories BIG BIG TRAIN will hit european mainland for the very first time to perform EXCLUSIVELY in 2018 at the Night of the Prog Festival on Friday 13th 2018. Once again: This is the only european mainland appearance in 2018 - don't miss it!"

Thanks for posting this. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the line-up. Does this festival sell-out (ie when would be the best time to purchase tickets)?

no, it doesn't sell out, as the venue has room for around 15.000-16.000 people (not sure about the correct number, as the complete area around is reconstructed at the moment).

So you can even order your ticket online one week before the festival starts (depending where you live and how long the mail needs) or you can even buy tickets at the counter at the festival.

next band is announced:

The progressive rock band from Norway will perform on 15th of July 2018. Their sound dives deep into 70’s prog rock, resurfacing with a modern take on the genre. After “Gentle Knife” (2015) and “Clock Unwound” (2017), the band is currently working on their 3rd album. NOTP is looking forward to hearing tracks of all three albums during the festival.

two more updates to the lineup:

From Down Under to the River Rhine ... ANUBIS

We are pleased to announce for the first time on the rock: ANUBIS. The progressive rock band from Sydney, Australia, will hit the Loreley Stage on 15th of July 2018.
The band has released four studio albums so far: '230503' (2009), the critically acclaimed 'A Tower of Silence' (2011), 'Hitchhiking to Byzantium' (2014) and the fourth album, "The Second Hand", has been released earlier in 2017.

CAMEL confirmed for Saturday, 14th July 2018

After their outstanding performance during our 10th anniversary festival in 2015, CAMEL will perform their masterpiece “Moonmadness” in its entirety on 14th July 2018 at the Night of the Prog Festival at the Loreley Amphitheater.
