Hello there,
Could you please consider Phase to be included in ProgArchives as I think it really fits the website's character...
and I don't think I am the only one who thinks so ( http://progrock.org.pl/rock-progresywny/rock-psychodeliczny/item/9526-in-consequence" rel="nofollow - http://progrock.org.pl/rock-progresywny/rock-psychodeliczny/item/9526-in-consequence , http://progrocks.gr/EL/phase-the-wait/" rel="nofollow - http://progrocks.gr/EL/phase-the-wait/ )

music can be found here http://www.phase.org.uk" rel="nofollow - www.phase.org.uk

and here's an official bio  http://www.allmusic.com/artist/phase-mn0003136342" rel="nofollow - http://www.allmusic.com/artist/phase-mn0003136342

can you tell me your thoughts?

Just to link to the old topic as well since music and thoughts were posted there: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=102724" rel="nofollow - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=102724

Sort of Heavy Prog Crossover with metal qualities. For me the music reveals its progressive qualities the more you listen. I don't know about category, but I'll mention it to Crossover.

EDIT: already in Crossover hands, will see how it goes.

I would class this more on the heavy side rather then crossover.  More prog/metal to me

Could as well be classed as experimental, Post metal, but they have similarities with many crossover bands listed in here and it's been suggested before on the old post so I wen't with that! There was a PROG magazine's old mention of them as simply Prog Rock when there was an upcoming gig with Amplifier in Nottingham, but that's just far-fetched...

Don't worry, the evaluation is under way with what you have already provided, and Phase have one 'yes' vote so far in Crossover (with three other team members still to vote). You can periodically check on the progress of the evaluation here:  http://progfreak.com/Phase-146254.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Phase-146254.html?path=pa/recent .

It's not going down very well I guess... Hehe

I'm not sure I'd say that. Maybe it's going down well but all they're hearing is a post punk/ new wave band? I kinda dig the sound but that's basically what the music feels like to me.

Maybe you are right, but it really has that prog feel! and I am not the only one who has that opinion!

I honestly don't hear any prog feel, but then agan I don't have a say in adding bands, so my opinion really doesn't matter. If the xover guys feel the band sounds like it fits, then they will be included in the database

To me the most recent album of theirs sounds like The Smashing Pumpkins teaming up with Wire ca 1979. Pretty good stuff.

I think the prog parts are so many to miss, for instance the song structure on Amethyst, and the odd time signatures on Homeseek Dark Blues, or these riffs on Birthday song and Remnants, but I am far from expert on that. I'd like more opinions to be fair, but time is precious for people and such things to surface need more than a superficial run through the songs... Obviously I think you've hit the nail there on the Smashing pumkins sound @Guldbamsen but I think it's not all that there is in there.
