Group Lilac Orchestra (later renamed Modus) was formed in 1992 in Russia, in city Penza. At that time few musicians who previously played in various musical projects, and is in constant creative search, are combined into a new group, giving the group the name Lilac Orchestra. In its composition then was Vladimir Ivanov (keyboards), Vladimir Volodin (drums) and Evgeni Melnikov (bass guitar). The first steps in the field of synthesis of different musical styles gave musicians the opportunity to record a CD. The album called "Tsunami" was released on the label SNC Records in 1994, and stylistically was a connection jazz-rock, fusion and new age. In my humble opinion, "Tsunami" one of the best albums in jazz-rock/fusion released ever in Russia.
Unfortunately, the group Lilac Orchestra was neglected and unfairly forgotten.

Hi Nikols,

Thanks for dropping the suggestion by. It sounds like a no brainer inclusion to the jazz-fusion world in these parts. I'll drop this by the team right now and give my YES vote.

I'll also drop this by the sister site Jazz Music Archives since i see you're not there yet either.

Was this your band? Or or you just a fan :)  Good stuff

Hi siLLy puPPy :)

The group itself for a long time (many years) as not functioning. Group Lilac Orchestra even in Russia, know now only a few. I like music of this group (especially the first album), and I want to contribute to the lighting of their creativity.
