Have had a real hard time finding high def audio files to purchase and download. HDTracks.com has a handful of AIFF files from Yes, Led Zeppelin, old Pink Floyd, Supertramp, ELP, Alan Parsons...that's about it. Steve Hackett's website has Genesis Revisited II in 24 bit FLAC...but that seems to be about it... Has anyone aware of other vendors of high def audio that stock prog rock?

I could find some FLAC 24bit also on Bandcamp 7digital CDBaby I'm aware of a German store HighResAudio.com but never bought from them, I'll have to take a peek soon (until recentely didn't sell to my country) Hope it helps |

There are some on Burning Shed. I have had more luck going to the artist website too......I only buy vinyl, and usually included is a 24bit download card. -------------

I can upload full WAV files to Bandcamp, and you can download them, too. However. There's no real audio difference between 16 and 24 bit .wav files, and a lot of MP3 players didn't cope with 24 bit, at least a few ears back, anyway. ------------- |

^ Well that is a good point, if you are downloading 24bit hi-rez files to listen on a portable device (phone, media player...) yea your not gonna hear any difference between a low rez mp3 file and the 24bit one using teeny-tiny krappy ear buds. Now on a real audio home system with a DAC that can handle/play 24bit files, you should hear a difference between 16bit redbook and 24bit hi-rez. -------------

As a PS. The high def audio tracks from Led Zep et al will all have been mastered using 1970's technology, so no matter how high the definiition, the underlying recordings will still be "1970's quality". ------------- |
