| The problem I have with Renaissance is they let some of their songs run a little too long and they become a bit repetitive. Black Flame doesn't have that problem - it's brilliant all the way through which is why I voted for it. |

This is really great album! I think all the songs are just great, when listening few hours ago I just wondering how they could have so much so great melodies, how the whole album is just so great when itīs very rare in todayīs albums that the whole album is like this! Really hard to pick one, but when Cold is Being started, I knew itīs going to be my choise. I have always loved that Alibinoni-piece, I havenīt got no idea Renaissance had made version of it. When I heard Annie singing it, shivers ran all over me. Itīs has been quite rare recent years I had this quite spiritual experience with a great music. Thanx a lot this thread, this album really made my day!

The only albums I've heard from this band are this and Ashes are Burning(love Carpet of the Sun). The song that I remember most from this one is Things I Don't Understand, so I voted for it. Like her voice a lot, I should start getting back into them. |

This is hard. Can't bring myself to vote against either Running Hard or Mother Russia. Both of these are so good that it'd be criminal to only vote for one of them. OK I give it to Running Hard because Mother Russia has already so many votes, but really both of these are the kind of 100% music that when you listen to them there's nothing else in the world. |

Speaking of Running Hard, here's a great, great performance of the song. Played quite a bit faster than the studio cut seemingly. Annie's C6 in the vocalise makes the jaw drop. |

An excellent album. The second side is practically flawless, but Cold is Being is simply one of the most incredible things I've heard. Annie Haslam's voice is just wonderful. A pity the lyrics are so depressing! Running Hard, Black Flame and Mother Russia are also marvellous. ------------- A TVR is not a car. It's a way of life. |
