Following my post that Foxtrot is more of a group effort than Animals, got me thinking.

Which of the Prog groups are the most collective? As in every member chips in on the compositions. They may have become poorer by splitting royalties, but if it makes for great music does it matter?

So am I looking at Genesis? Or do Yes go further with the shared writing? Blimey, should I have stayed with The Doors?
Roger Waters might have said he'd take on board ideas from other sidemen but as he wrote the words and chords he gets the credits.
Not looking for things like that! Brother and Sisterhood in Prog working together to benefit the music.
Of course the arguements must have been epic over the arrangements!
But that's for another thread.

Which bands had the best collaborative ethic when it came to the songs?

Or have I got it wrong and Prog is all about one dominant personality imposing their will onto others at all costs?
