You love 'em or you hate 'em (apparently).

I love Afterglow, Rites at Dawn, and Silence to Somewhere equally (voted 5* for each of them).

But out of these three, I like Rites at Dawn the most, because of the shorter songs and there's more flute.

^  When I filled in the original post, I messed up the poll, so one is left out.
Too bad. But if anyone thinks their debut is their best, we have the comment-section

I recognize From Silence to Somewhere as a veritable masterpiece, but there has always been something so deeply engaging about Rites at Dawn that it gets my vote.

I was a very vocal champion of Rites from the moment of its release cuz I was seeing such a backlash against its imitative/replicative/clone-like sound, and yet, I argue, who wouldn't want to hear something new from Yes's 1972 period? Especially if it's at such a high level of technical and compositional skill? Silence merely takes this skill to a new, even higher level, start to finish (there are lowpoints in the Rites album).

RPWL got the same bashing for continuing the Pink Floyd-torch. (Somehow Airbag never got the same amount of bashing)

Anekdoten was also accused of imitating King Crimson. But they continued where King Crimson left of with Red. And isn't that what the fans want?

To me, Fragile, Close to the Edge and somehow Drama are the essential works of Yes, so I'n very pleased that Wobbler continued that sound.

Druckfarben has taken over the Drama-approach, so I am also happy there.

From Silence to Somewhere, followed very closed by Rites at Dawn, and Afterglow not very far either.
